If you’re wondering whether it’s still possible to see cherry blossoms in New York this week (mid-April), the answer is yes — but not everywhere, and not in the same way as earlier in the season.

The peak bloom has started to pass in some areas, but across the city, there are still spots where cherry blossoms are holding on.

• Where you can still see cherry blossoms

In larger parks like Central Park, the bloom isn’t uniform, which means some areas are already fading while others are still in bloom — especially around Cherry Hill or the Reservoir loop.

The same goes for Brooklyn Botanic Garden, where different varieties of cherry trees bloom at slightly different times. Areas like the Cherry Esplanade can still have blossoms in mid-April.

Beyond those well-known spots, places like Madison Square Park or Hunter's Point South Park may still have a few trees holding on.

Further out, Flushing Meadows–Corona Park — especially near the Unisphere — can also offer some late-season blooms.

Across the city, smaller pockets still exist too — less obvious, but still there if you happen to pass by.

• What to expect this week

This is no longer peak cherry blossom season in New York.

Instead, it’s a transition.

Some trees are still in bloom, others are already starting to lose their petals and in some places, the season is already ending.

Because of this, it’s less about going to one specific spot expecting a full bloom, and more about catching what’s still there.

• Is it still worth going?

If you’re in New York this week and hoping to see cherry blossoms, it’s still worth it — especially in larger parks where the bloom lasts longer.

But expectations should be different from early April.

It’s not the peak anymore, but the last phase of the season.

Cherry blossom season in New York doesn’t end all at once.

It fades gradually, depending on the location, the weather, and the type of trees.

And in mid-April, the city is still in that in-between moment — where spring is fully settling in, and the last blossoms are still part of it.
